The Basilica of Saint Mary Major commemorates the first anniversary of the death of Pope Francis on Tuesday, April 21, 2026.
At 5:00 PM the Holy Rosary will be recited, followed at 6:00 PM by the celebration of Holy Mass, broadcast live on Vatican Media, TV2000, Tele Pace, and on the Basilica’s social media channels.
The Basilica will be temporarily closed at 3:00 PM for preparations and will reopen at 4:00 PM for the entry of the faithful until full capacity is reached.
