The Holy Father has expressed his gratitude to His Eminence Cardinal Stanisław Ryłko for his service as Archpriest of the Papal Basilica of Saint Mary Major. He is succeeded by His Most Reverend Eminence Cardinal Rolandas Makrickas, until now Coadjutor Archpriest of the aforementioned Liberian Basilica.
